Day 1: Arrive in Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, be met and transferred to your hotel by private transfer.
Day 2: Beijing (B, L)
Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world; Forbidden City, the imperial palace of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty from 1420 to 1911; Temple of Heaven, where emperors made sacrifices to ensure a good harvest.
Day 3: Beijing (B, L)
Visit Great Wall, a 1500-miles-long fortification across North China constructed over 2000 years ago; Ming Tombs, the cemetery for emperors of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644); on the way, have a stop for taking pictures of the 2008 Beijing Olympic sites (Bird’s Nest & Water Cube) from the outside.
Day 4: Beijing (B, L)
Visit Summer Palace, the summer retreat for emperors and their family; have a close touch to Beijing local life by Hutong tour by rickshaw.
Day 5: Beijing – Huangshan (B, L)
Be transferred to the airport for your flight to Huangshan. Arrive in Huangshan, visit Tunxi Ancient Street, which consists of over 300 local style buildings of different ages and hailed as “flowing Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival”.
Day 6: Huangshan – Yellow Mountain (Mt. Huangshan) (B, L)
Drive to Yellow Mountain. Go uphill the mountain by cable car, have a walking tour on the top to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Day 7: Yellow Mountain – Huangshan – Hangzhou (B, L)
Go downhill by cable car, visit local villages to see folk dwellings and local life; inkstone workshop – In ancient China, an inkstone was used to grind and maintain ink and at the workshop, you have a chance to see inkstones in various shapes. Drive to Huangshan railway station for the high-speed train to Hangzhou (about 3 hours).
Day 8: Hangzhou (B, L)
Cruise West Lake, a freshwater lake located in the historic area of Hangzhou; walking through the old street to visit the old Chinese Traditional Herbal Medicine Museum; visit Tea Plantation and watch Chinese Tea Ceremony.
Day 9: Hangzhou – Wuzhen – Suzhou (B, L)
Drive to Wuzhen, visit Wuzhen Water Town, where you can see old traditional buildings, 100 beds museum and batik workshop. Drive to Suzhou.
Day 10: Suzhou (B, L)
Visit Lingering Garden, one of the Four Great Gardens of China; Ancient Panmen Gate, an ancient city gate with land and water entrances for defense with a history of over 2500 years; Silk Factory & Silk Museum – Suzhou is well-known as a city of Chinese classic gardening and exquisite silk.
Day 11: Suzhou – Shanghai (B, L)
Be transferred to the railway station for the train to Shanghai. Arrive in Shanghai, visit the Bund, which locates on the bank of Huangpu River and was once British Concession from 1844 to 1943; the Old Shanghai, where the vestiges of the city can be found. Also, visit the famous Nanjing East Road Pedestrian street before head to your hotel.
Day 12: Shanghai (B, L)
Visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the landmark and a good place to have a bird's-eye view of the city; Shanghai City Museum, where you will learn about the history and development of Shanghai. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 13: Depart from Shanghai (B)
Be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. Service ends.
