Day 1: Arrive in Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, be met and transferred to your hotel by private transfer.

 

Day 2: Beijing (B, L)

Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world; Forbidden City, the imperial palace of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty from 1420 to 1911; Temple of Heaven, where emperors made sacrifices to ensure a good harvest.

 

Day 3: Beijing (B, L)

Visit Great Wall, a 1500-miles-long fortification across North China constructed over 2000 years ago; Summer Palace, the summer retreat for emperors and their family; on the way, have a stop for taking pictures of the 2008 Beijing Olympic sites (Bird’s Nest & Water Cube) from the outside.

 

Day 4: Beijing – Yichang – Yangtze River Cruise (B, L)

Have a close touch to Beijing local life by Hutong tour by rickshaw. Be transferred to the airport for your flight to Yichang. In the evening, embark on the ship for Yangtze River Cruise.

 

Day 5-7: On Ship (B, L, D)

Yangtze River is the longest river of China and ranks the third longest in the world. Yangtze River Cruise provides you a good chance to see the spectacular scenery of Three Gorges with your own eyes. Besides, there are also some historic and cultural sites distributing along the river. 

 

Day 8: Yangtze River Cruise – Chongqing – Chengdu (B, L)

Disembark in Chongqing, visit Three Gorges Museum (also called Chongqing Municipal Museum), in which you will learn about detailed introduction to the Three Gorges (including the magnificent project of Three Gorges Dam and the migrating for building the dam) as well as the history and culture of Chongqing, for example, the old witchery culture and Taoism culture; visit People’s Hall from the outside, which is of traditional Chinese architectural style and separated from the museum by a square; Eling Park, or literally Goose Neck Park, the oldest private garden in Chongqing. Be transfer to the railway station for the train to Chengdu.  

 

Day 9: Chengdu (B, L)

Visit Breeding and Research Base of Giant Panda, which is renowned home and abroad; Jinli Street, one of the oldest and busiest street of Chengdu in history; local tea house, where you can observe local tea culture.

 

Day 10: Chengdu – Xian (B, L)

Be transferred to the airport for your flight to Xian. Arrive in Xian, visit Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses, which were buried over 2000 years ago with the purpose of guarding the mausoleum of Qinshihuang (the first emperor in Chinese history) and is widely known as one of the Eight Wonders of the World today.

 

Day 11: Xian-Shanghai (B, L)

Visit Ancient City Wall, the largest-scaled and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. Stroll around the Bell Tower Square, which is the center of Xian. Be transferred to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.

 

Day 12: Shanghai (B, L)

Visit the Bund, which locates on the bank of Huangpu River and was once British Concession from 1844 to 1943; Yu Garden, which is known as a Chinese classic garden built during the second half of the 16th century and the Old Shanghai outside the garden; Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the landmark and a good place to have a bird's-eye view of the city; and Shanghai City Museum, where you will learn about the history and development of Shanghai. 

 

Day 13: Depart from Shanghai (B)

Be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. Service ends.
