Pick-up at around 5:40 am from your hotels within the 2nd ring road.

 

The drive takes about 3 hours and breakfast are offered on the way. Arrive at Jinshanling Great Wall at around 10:00 am and hike on the east section of the wall. It is some 130 kilometers from downtown Beijing, which makes it less crowded and a good place for hiking. The hiking today is about 6-kilometer-long and takes about 3 hours.

 

Jinshanling Great Wall was first constructed as a military fortress under General Xv Da’s direction and supervision in early Ming Dynasty. Later another general, Qi Jiguang, led a number of defense works while guarding the north area in 1567. Now, it is seen as the highlight of the Great Wall and hailed as “a paradise for shutterbugs” for its splendid scenery.

 

After Chinese lunch at local restaurant, return to the city and drop-off along the subway station.
