This tour starts at the northern part of Tian'anmen Square, which is the largest square in the world. You will have a chance to see the outsides of some renowned national buildings from different distances, including Tian’anmen (the main entrance to the Forbidden City in the past as well as the place Chairman Mao Zedong declared the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1 of 1949), the flag tower where national flag ceremony is daily held in early morning, the Monument to the People's Hero, the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao Zedong, the Great Hall of People, and the National Museum.

From there you will proceed to the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved ancient imperial palace complex in the world, with a history of over 600 years. Located at the axle wire of Beijing, the Forbidden City consists of more than 70 palaces with over 9000 rooms and was included as World Cultural Heritage site in 1987. It is also home to over one million pieces (sets) of old things, accounting for about 1/6 of China’s total historic and cultural relics. The visit in Forbidden City is unidirectional from south to north, about 2 hours.

Then you will have about 45 minutes to visit Jade Carving Factory. With a history of approximately 3000 years, Chinese jade carving enjoys great reputation in the world for its ingenuity. In ancient China, jade was seen as the symbol of good morality, which made it a common custom to take along it especially among the riches. According to shape, colour, and luster, crude jades can be cut and polished to be various shapes: figures, wares, birds, beasts, flowers, rings, hairpins, seals…

Have Chinese lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch, continue to Mutianyu Great Wall, which is known for its beautiful surroundings and as one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall. It used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. If you want to reach the highest point, the cable car is a good choice (optional).

On the way back to the city, you will have a chance to enjoy the Chinese Traditional Tea Ceremony, which is an old Chinese culture refers to how tea is prepared in China.
