The bus will pick you up at your hotels and transfer you to Ming Tombs (50 miles, about 1.5 hours’ driving), which are made up of thirteen tombs of emperors and their empresses of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), to visit the largest one – Changling. The visit takes about 1 hour and finishes at about 10:45.
Then you will have about 45 minutes to visit Jade Carving Factory. With a history of approximately 3000 years, Chinese jade carving enjoys great reputation in the world for its ingenuity. In ancient China, jade was seen as the symbol of good morality, which made it a common custom to take along it especially among the riches. According to shape, colour, and luster, crude jades can be cut and polished to be various shapes: figures, wares, birds, beasts, flowers, rings, hairpins, seals…
After Chinese lunch at local restaurant, continue to drive to Badaling Great Wall. Constructed in 1505 during Ming Dynasty, it stretches for some 50 miles and is well-known as the best-preserved and the most visited section of the Great Wall. The highest point of Badaling is Beibalou, about 1,015 meters above sea level. The hike on Badaling Great Wall takes about 2 hours.The cable car is available and it is optional.
On the way back to hotels, you will have a chance to enjoy Chinese Traditional Tea Ceremony, which is an old Chinese culture refers to how tea is prepared in China.
